On my sewing table

Hi there!

Care amici/amiche, vi state godendo questa primavera bellissima e caldissima? Qui al sud arriviamo anche a 30° certi giorni... Non so voi, ma io fremo per cucire qualcosina! Abbiamo imbiancato metà casa nelle ultime due settimane, e sono ancora alle prese con le ultime pulizie e riordini. Ecco cosa pensavo di fare:

My dear friends, are you enjoying this wonderful and hot spring? Here in the South we even got 30°C some days... I don't know about you, but I'm impatient to sew something! We have painted the house during the last two weeks and I've yet to finish cleaning and reordering. Here's what I have listed up next:

Colette Sorbetto top!

E' da tempo che guardo i cartamodelli di Colette con l'acquolina in bocca, e mi sono decisa finalmente di cominciare con uno dei cartamodelli che la designer Sarai Mitnick ha messo a disposizione gratuitamente: il top Sorbetto.

Ecco la mia versione:

It's been a while since I've been looking at Colette patterns wishing to make them, and I finally decided to begin with one of the patterns the designer Sarai Mitnick made available for free: the Sorbetto top.

Here's my version:

 Seguendo la tabella taglie, ho ricavato la taglia 12, ma risultava immensa, e l'ho dovuta restringere parecchio dai lati, dalla scollatura davanti, e dietro, dove non potevo stringere, ho semplicemente arricciato (foto sotto)

From the size table, I chose and cut a 12 based on my bust measurement, but it was huge and I had to take it in at the sides, at the front and at the back, where I had to gather it a bit (see pic below)

L'orlo arrotolato:

My rolled hem- much easier now that I've figured out how to do it ;)

Questa è una versione di prova abbastanza portabile, devo ancora cucire una taglia 10 - mi andrebbe meglio. Sono molto contenta, per questo non ho aspettato a fare le foto di giorno :)

Il cartamodello è facile, ci sono soltanto due pezzi (davanti e dietro) e le istruzioni sono altrettanto facili da seguire, con molti disegni per guidarci. E' un pezzo di base per il guardaroba, penso che vedrete anche altre mie versioni del modello :)

Nel frattempo devo andare a finire il mio vestito - manca solo l'orlo!

I'm calling this a "wearable muslin" as I still have to sew a size 10 - I think the fit would be better. I am very excited, that's why I didn't wait and take pictures with daylight :)

The pattern is easy as there are only two pieces (front and back), and  the instructions are also easy to folow, and very detailed, with lots of  drawings to guide us. It is a great wardrobe builder, I really think you will see more versions of mine for this pattern :)

In the meanwhile, I have to go finish my dress - only the hem is to be done there!

Maggio sarà un mese impegnativo per me :) a parte il Burda Sew Along, e iniziare a studiare per la sessione estiva dell'università, mi sono iscritta anche ad un PIF. Cos'è? PIF sta per "Pay it forward", cioè, passalo a qualcun'altro.
